Scott Simpson
I’m an illustrator and art director with a lifelong passion for impactful imagery and the belief that art is a universal language, capable of breaking down social barriers and communicating complex ideas. My illustrations feature bold color pallets, flowing line-work, and a touch of whimsy. While my designs carry much of the same approach, they seek to capture the attention of a designated audience and deliver on a predetermined goal.
After graduating from Samford University with a BFA in graphic design, I’ve continued to grow my illustration practice via courses in animation fundamentals and analytical figure drawing. This has not only enhanced my knowledge but allowed me to approach creative endeavors with multiple solutions at hand. Throughout my decade-long freelance and in-house design career, I’ve had the pleasure to work with a variety of clients ranging from local businesses to Fortune 500 companies in cutting-edge industries.
When I’m not tucked behind a desk with a pen in hand, you can often find me exploring the natural world whether it be through the curious eyes of my young daughter and her growing appreciation for all living things or standing waist-deep in a river with a fly rod in hand. These little adventures offer me a balance to what is mostly a deadline-driven career as well as offer a unique perspective to my craft.
